Office renovation

822 Hartz Way

Lowney Architecture was tasked with the revisioning of an existing, outdated 14,000 sf office building near downtown Danville. Lowney stripped away the outdated building elements and redesigned the structure to fit more into its contemporary context. We added a shiplap cedar siding element on the front facing Hartz Way to give the building more of a street presence. We also introduced a muscular and inviting entry canopy giving the building a stately presence to the street. More simple, durable materials were chosen for the side and rear facades to keep the project costs down. The interior scope included a renovation of the existing lobby and bathroom and the introduction of a new elevator. The client had leases for all tenant spaces in this building before construction was complete. The building won an Outstanding Commercial Remodel Design Award from the Town of Danville in 2016.
