New Designs: A Look at Right-sized Urban Solutions / Case Studies

What’s the current housing agenda for San Francisco, and how are architects responding to the demands and opportunities presented by the shifting parameters for new housing? This panel reviews several case studies of current designs for San Francisco and other cities in California that offer progressive alternatives to the status quo.

Ken uses 2711 Shattuck as a case study for micro-efficiency housing and how “Small is Beautiful,” when designed right and projects can be “affordable by design” when leveraging innovative practices and technologies such as offsite construction.

Ken Lowney, Founder/President, Lowney Architecture
