Last year was, arguably, the biggest year in California history for housing legislation. One new tool that recently went into effect is AB 2011, which redefines how real estate is used, and it has the potential to address many of the issues contributing to what’s been dubbed San Francisco’s “doom loop” and turn it into a “boom loop.” In the latest issue of the San Francisco Business Times, Ken Lowney breaks down what the bill does and doesn’t accomplish, as well as what it means for the region’s recovery.
