Lowney Architecture Opens Los Angeles Location in the Historic Bradbury Building

It’s been almost over 20 years since Lowney Architecture set its roots in the heart of Oakland. As we’ve grown, we’ve progressively expanded our expertise in downtown Honolulu. Now, with great excitement, we proudly announce the opening of our third location in the iconic Bradbury Building in Downtown Los Angeles.

Under the leadership of President and CEO Ken Lowney, our Los Angeles office is currently home to a dynamic team of four employees, including Alexandria Hoevel, AIA, Studio Director, Dale Furman, AIA, NCARB, Senior Project Manager, Xuan Guo, LEED AP BD+C, Senior Job Captain, and Emily LoVerde, Marketing Manager, with plans to accommodate even more by 2024.

Xuan Guo who joined the Los Angeles office in the summer of 2023, expressed her admiration for the new location, “It’s such a beautiful space, the open atrium space is probably my favorite architectural feature.” The team can utilize open workspaces or visit the downstairs coffee bar, emphasizing the importance of selecting a space that aligns with evolving workplace culture and growth plans.

The strategic choice of the historic Bradbury Building reflects Lowney Architecture’s commitment to anticipated growth and the amenities surrounding it. The location encourages collaboration and creativity, with diverse cuisines at Grand Central Market within a brief stroll.

As the Los Angeles division secures projects, the need for a more expansive workspace becomes crucial. Lowney Architecture’s industrial expertise has opened doors to opportunities in Los Angeles, expanding the project portfolio in size and expertise.

Specializing in affordable housing, Lowney Architecture is engaged in multifamily housing projects in the Los Angeles market, totaling over 900 units. These projects showcase a commitment to innovation through a combination of modular and traditional construction techniques.

Ken Lowney and the Los Angeles team oversee multifamily housing projects, revitalize retail spaces, and collaborate with industrial clients. Guided by core values of community, resourcefulness, and problem-solving excellence, the firm contributes to vibrant and sustainable communities.

From designing Whole Foods in Downtown Oakland to substantial affordable housing projects, Lowney Architecture looks forward to enriching communities and making lasting contributions to the architectural landscape.
