As part of the state’s redevelopment effort to turn the area into a true neighborhood, Eviva Midtown represents one major undertaking that came to fruition for Sacramento. The highly publicized residential project is situated at 1531 N. St., along the 16th Street corridor, where downtown and midtown Sacramento intersect and several coffee shops, restaurants, and bars are located. Before this project, 16th Street was considered a tired and uninviting corridor, mainly used by commuters struggling to get to the other areas of the central city. Now, it has become midtown’s “pop up” neighborhood, where streets are filled with residents and visitors enjoying its 24/7 lifestyle.
The 118-unit property was built in 2016 and features certified CALGreen modular construction, prefabricated in Boise, Idaho and shipped to Sacramento with almost all the interior finishes in place—including coverings, appliances, ceiling fans, kitchen and bathroom millwork, sinks, and lighting fixtures. Lowney Architecture developed the design for Class A apartments with gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances, in-unit washer and dryer, and oversized windows providing views of the downtown area and Capitol Park. Shared amenities include a fitness center, community lounge, courtyard and firepit, barbeque pit, and enclosed parking garage with controlled access.
