Located on the corner of Parrott Street and San Leandro Boulevard, Loro Landing is a new apartment community, bringing 62 affordable rental units to the City of San Leandro. Across from the San Leandro BART station, this Transit-Oriented-Development project will contribute to the city’s vision of building a vibrant downtown of affordable, quality housing without the threat of residents being priced out of the housing market. Units will be reserved for individuals and households earning 20% and 60% of the area median income, with approximately half of the units for homeless and lower-income veterans with the help of HUD-VASH subsidy and the state’s Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention funding program.
This five-story building includes a mix of studios, one-bedroom units, and two bedroom units, with one unit set aside for a property manager. On site, at ground level, the building includes a property management office as well as additional offices for resident coordinators. On-site services include job assistance, financial literacy, and wellness education. The property’s on-site amenities include a community room, laundry facilities, computer lab, and outdoor courtyard with a community garden.
The building is slated for Green Point Rated Silver certification. Sustainability features include solar panels on the building’s roof, and units equipped with Energy star appliances and low-flow water fixtures.
