Waikiki Market sits prominently on the second floor overlooking a vibrant and active Kuhio Avenue at the heart of Waikiki and at the base of the new 28 story residential tower – Lilia Waikiki. For almost six decades, this property, owned by the Queen Emma Trust, served as the anchor location for Food Pantry, the predecessor to Waikiki Market, proudly serving as the sole full service grocery store in Waikiki.
Designed specifically with the Waikiki Community in mind, the new store concept places a strong emphasis on local food. It boasts a food hall concept, home to two restaurants, and a neighborhood-serving grocery store, all spread across the 32,000 square feet of space on the first and second floors. This thoughtful arrangement caters to the needs of both residents and tourists, providing a vibrant culinary experience that showcases the best of the local cuisine.
High ceilings flood the space with natural light as well as ample indoor and outdoor seating areas to help curate a lively and exciting atmosphere. Local artists played an integral role in crafting art pieces that serve a dual purpose: representing the unique artistic expressions of the local community and acting as wayfinding tools that seamlessly guide patrons throughout the multi-level space. These artistically created pieces not only reflect the rich artistry of local talents but also provide practical and visually captivating cues to assist visitors as they navigate their way up and through the different levels of the establishment.
